pictures in motion

I'm kinda gutted I don't have many reserve photos so that when I'm busy, I can blog something. I thought I'd post something less glad rags and more riches today and discuss one of my favourite subjects in the world, movies!

What sort of films do you watch? Is there a genre you can't stand?
I love a little bit of everything but prefer colourful, thought provoking films most of all- you know the kind that make you reconsider things and leave you thinking for a good while after?

Past
Rear Window, my favourite film by Mr Alfred Hitchcock is one I'd recommend to anyone. It's thrilling, captivating and stars two of the most gorgeously talented people to have graced (no pun intended) Hollywood. I think it also reflects society and changing ideals in a way quite remarkably!

Present

A couple of friends and I went and saw Tangled last week and it turned me into a child again. It was a very beautiful animation and at times, really touching! The animal sidekick didn't irritate me at all and Rapunzel herself was too cute, she made me want green eyes haha!
I also saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which I avoided at cinema's because the adverts didn't sell it to me, to be honest. I loved it though, it was hilarious and definately a great girl/boy inbetween film.

Future

I'm really looking forward to Richard Ayoade's Submarine. Brit's will know him as Moss from the It Crowd, others maybe will know his video for Vampire Weekend's song, Oxford Commar. Either way, it's got great reviews and looks amusing.

Have you got any films you think I should watch? What are you looking forward to this year, or have never got round to watching?

  1. arr the advert for the submarine one looks good but i couldn't spot moss in it though ( i absolutely love moss) but i did recognise what looked the male lead, he was from this crappy cbbc series about the son of a vampire but the son didn't want to be a vampire it was called something like young dracular xx my favorite movie at the moment is an old one called when harry met sally and i am currently watching it as I'm typing, heyy i no its late but its the holidays xx
