child's play

I would describe my style as eccentric and would disect it to be part child, part white trash, part punk rocker, part suburban housewive. I love gold jewellery, novelty/kitch patterns, a summer dress and leather (though not all together)

I know that my style is influenced by films, music, chosen icons, my grandma, fashions from the past and inevitably, current fashions (though I think, like every blogger, it's not about following fashion but when something comes 'in'-for example lace- you're reminded of how great it is or have the opportunity to buy something you've wanted for a while)

Looking at childhood photos makes me wonder if your style is influenced at a young age- I would definately wear any of the items I'm dressed in below (and my older brother in the mexican T-shirt said he'd buy it if he saw it in a shop in his size haha)

CHUBBY MINI-PIERROT PHOTO ALERT

and the day my brothers and I thought it'd be hilarious to dress up in all our parents black leather clothing

Do you look back with affection on what you wore as a child or cringe?

  1. These photos are so cute!!!! I have mixed feeling about childhood photos, the Laura Ashley dresses my Mum insisted that my sisters wore were horrific but when it's a group of us looking terrible together you just gotta smile =)

  2. ¡Aww! ¡you looked like a stylisch princess! ¡So pretty!

I love to see my child photos, and of course what I was wearing, and I can conclude that my style right now is because the way how my mom dressed me.

    ¡Greetings!

  9. Aw man, too cute. I definitely look back on my childhood photographs with affection -- I wore some hilarious stuff, but also some brilliant things too... especially the dresses - peter pan collars, frills, sailor stripes, the lot! x

  14. Yes, I totally do. My mom always dressed me in black and blue clothes and that are still the colors you find in my closet.

  15. Hello, love! These pictures are SO cute!! I might post somthing similar. I totally agree with you though - id wear anything I did as a child. There are a few pictures of me with RayBan style sunnies, with a polka dot lime green and black skater skirt and matching crop top. I wish i still had all of the thick knit cardis (if they fit)

I also had some jelly-bean print Doc Martens, which my mum only mentioned yesterday. I want them now!

I love this post, it's so cute

    Sorry for the essay

    Love,
    Ruth xo
